“Constructed around a massive particle cannon and also equipped with ion guns and anti-fighter turrets, these destroyers decisively end space fleet battles with overwhelming force.” Victor K‘s description of his Conviction Crusader lets us know how menacing the ship is, but the description stops short of describing how cool the ship looks. There’s no “up” anywhere, with plates and bricks being stacked in all directions. The bulky, angular engines face one way, while the main lines of the hull are perpendicular. The result is a craft that looks right at home in space, where “up” and “down” are mere suggestions. Before the X-wing, there was the ARC-170. Well OK, technically there was nothing before the X-wing as the original Star Wars came out before the prequel films – but let’s not get into semantics just yet! While the former has seen plenty of LEGO iterations down the years, there have been just two sets of the Republic’s main starfighter, and none since 2011. None until now, that is! LEGO Star Wars 75402 ARC-170 Starfighter forms part of the new line of LEGO Star Wars sets coming out on January 1, 2025. With 497 pieces, it can be pre-ordered now for US $69.99 | CAN $89.99 | UK £59.99, and will likely be available on eBay and Amazon too. Does this hotly-anticipated comeback live up to its billing? Read on to find out! The LEGO Group provided The Brothers Brick with an early copy of this set for review. Providing TBB with...
Nine days of calendar doors were gifted to the race of men who above all else crave small plastic toys. Nine days of commentary from our fellowship of Brothers Brick writers. And on this ninth day, what secrets are in store from Friends, Disney, City, Harry Potter, Star Wars, and Spider-man? Will one gift emerge to rule them all? As ever, our intrepid TBB team is on hand with witty comments, insightful observations, and bad jokes for each day’s builds. And of course, you can add your own thoughts in the comments section each day! So without further ado, let’s crack open the build for day 9… Our first gift, courtesy of Friends, is an adorable cat tree with a grey kitten and a fishy snack. Disney finally lets it go with the inevitable Elsa. More figures in our next boxes. Harry Potter gets a Hufflepuff friend in the form of...
All year-round, we here at The Brothers Brick spend our time featuring amazing builds made by the LEGO fan community. But we figured, for the holiday season, it would be great to build something together. For each day from December 1st through the 24th, we’ll be posting instructions to a custom TBB advent calendar build, one part each day. Want to participate? You can find all the parts you’ll need for the TBB Advent Event from our announcement in November. Read on to see what we’re building today! We’ve got some more space to fill with walls, so let’s get to it. I wonder what we’ll put on that stud. Here’s what it looks like in the real world: The post 2024 TBB custom LEGO advent calendar – Day 8 [Feature] appeared first on The Brothers Brick.
