- Project Description:
JrFLL of Maryland is part of the FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL) program, which offers exciting STEM learning experiences for students aged 9 to 14. Teams work together to design, build, and program autonomous robots using LEGO MINDSTORMS™ technology. They also conduct research on real-world challenges, promoting teamwork, innovation, and problem-solving skills.
Key Features of JrFLL in Maryland:
- Seasonal Challenges – Each year, a new theme is introduced. For the 2024-2025 season, the theme is "Ocean Exploration," where teams dive into oceanic research and technological innovations.
- Regional Qualifiers and State Championship – Teams participate in regional qualifiers across Maryland, with the best teams advancing to the State Championship at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC).
- Volunteer Opportunities – Volunteers play a crucial role in Maryland FLL events as event coordinators, judges, and mentors. This provides opportunities to contribute to youth STEM education.
